Happy Babies!

Since we're making plans to head to Caroline's second birthday party SOON and I'm still feeling nostalgic about the fact that the twins are two ...

Spring is almost here!

It's true.  It's happening.  Or at least I'm telling myself it is.  I've seen small signs of life popping up around our house and neighborhood and we. are. celebrating!  I'm a NW girl -- never much minded the rain.  And then the kids came.  And I realized just how much better we all get along when we're outside!! :)  We've actually gotten out a lot this winter.  Pull out the rain coats and boots and made mud pies!  But we've also done lots and lots of art projects (pipe cleaners are the current favorite around here), paints, chalk, crayons, play doh ... basically anything other than glitter.  Won't do glitter.  Here are a few pictures of one of their favorite things right now -- covering the table and using stickers and pens to decorate!  They look so old to me here -- we checked out a pre-school co-op this week for next year.  Can't believe we're even thinking about pre-school!

Super Luke!!!

Oh I love the post-dinner and post-bath antics around here!  Maybe the sweetest time of the day :)  When we're all four together and the day is over and we're just reading books and playing and enjoying each other.  Luke has started wearing this cape around and loves to be called "Super Luke!"  Oh my gosh, so darn cute!  They kids also have started to say that they love each other.  I was almost crying in the van today listening to them say back and forth to each other, "Love you Lukey!" and  "Love you Sissy!"  These are sweet days ... the kind that you KNOW while they're going on that you're going to miss them someday.

Who's getting walked?!

Not sure who is getting walked here!  Amelia loves walking Molly on a leash ... I think she feels like she has an important job to do.  They're still too snotty to take to nursery so this morning she marched all the way around the reservoir (about a half mile) walking Molly.  She also likes to walk her brother :)

Oh Thank You!

Oh, Sarah Bessey, you've done it again!  Thanks for this post which made me laugh out loud!  We've been a house (infirmary) of sickness for the last month -- a revolving door of croup and sinus infections and I think bronchitis (Scott) -- so thank you for your humor and grace.  Miraculously when we took Amelia off dairy several months ago, her puking has almost entirely stopped.  But in the first 18 months of her life I cleaned up FAR more puke than in the seven years I've been a nurse (which says something since those years have been spent working in oncology and pediatrics!) so I appreciated this post even more :)  Thank you for all of your birthday wishes -- despite having to cancel our dinner with our dear friends (due to multiple illnesses going on at our house) -- I did have a lovely day.  My parents watched the kids for a few hours in the afternoon so Scott and I could both nap.  Amazing.  Nothing says that you're a mom like being SO EXCITED for a nap!

Ice cream!

Is this girl her mother's daughter or what?!  You can almost see her thinking: "Three bites for me, one bite for Lukey!"  What can I say?  She comes from a long line of ice cream lovers :)
